Is the Gospel Still Precious to You?

Rediscovering the Treasure of God’s Plan

What does the gospel mean to you? According to Larry Stirlen, how we treat the gospel reveals everything about our spiritual priorities. In Chapter 5, he uses vivid imagery—the playbook, the hidden treasure, the precious ring—to call us back to a deep appreciation of the gospel’s worth.

Too many believers see evangelism as optional, when it is central to the mission. Stirlen asks, “Do you treasure the gospel the way God does?” If not, you’ll hide it, neglect it, or distort it. But when you value it as your most prized possession, everything changes. You want others to know. You can’t help but share it.

This blog challenges us to move from passive belief to passionate proclamation. Christ has handed us the ball—it’s our job to carry it down the field and score souls for heaven.

Make a list of three people in your life who don’t know Christ. Pray for them daily. Then ask God for one opportunity this week to share the gospel.
